About ODAM

The conference “Olomoucian Days of Applied Mathematics 2023” (ODAM) aims to be a forum for presenting new developments and applications of probability theory and statistics, numerical mathematics and optimization, and other branches of applied mathematics. The meeting will be organized in sessions with invited and contributed talks and posters.

Invited speakers

So far, the following invited speakers confirmed their presence on the ODAM 2023.

  • Karl Gerald van den Boogaart
    Karl Gerald van den Boogaart is currently working as a Professor at TU Bergakademie Freiberg, Germany (the oldest university of mining and metallurgy in the world) and head of Modeling and Evaluation Institute at Helmholtz-Zentrum Dresden-Rossendorf. His research interests are geostatistics, spatial statistics and compositional data analysis (Bayes spaces). Boogart was a recipient of the Andrei Borisovich Vistelius Research Award in 2003, and in 2014 he was selected to receive Georges Matheron Lectureship Award from the International Association for Mathematical Geosciences.

  • Kaisa Miettinen
    Kaisa Miettinen is Professor of Industrial Optimization at the University of Jyvaskyla. Her research interests include theory, methods, applications and software of nonlinear multiobjective optimization including interactive and evolutionary approaches. She heads the Research Group on Multiobjective Optimization and is the director of the thematic research area called Decision Analytics utilizing Causal Models and Multiobjective Optimization (DEMO, www.jyu.fi/demo). She has authored over 200 refereed journal, proceedings and collection papers, edited 20 proceedings, collections and special issues and written a monograph Nonlinear Multiobjective Optimization. She is a member of the Finnish Academy of Science and Letters, Section of Science and has served as the President of the International Society on Multiple Criteria Decision Making (MCDM). She belongs to the editorial boards of seven international journals and the Steering Committee of Evolutionary Multiobjective Optimization. She has previously worked at IIASA, International Institute for Applied Systems Analysis in Austria, KTH Royal Institute of Technology in Stockholm, Sweden and Helsinki School of Economics, Finland. She has received the Georg Cantor Award of the International Society on MCDM for independent inquiry in developing innovative ideas in the theory and methodology.

Abstracts

The abstracts should be at most 1 page long, have sufficient details, avoid mathematical formulas, and must follow the workshop templates. The extended deadline for abstract submission is March 31, 2023.

Please, submit your abstract via the login form (.tex and .pdf, or doc and .pdf file).

Notification of abstract acceptance will be sent as soon as possible, at the latest by April 4, 2023. Both oral and poster session will be organized.

Accommodation

Registration fees for ODAM 2023

Regular registration – registration and payment until April 5, 2023: 125 EUR (3000 CZK)
Late registration – registration or payment after April 5, 2023: 165 EUR (4000 CZK)
The VAT 21% has already been included in the prices.
The conference fees include materials, coffee breaks, lunches, get together, excursion and conference dinner.

Late registration – registration or payment after April 5, 2023: 110 EUR (2700 CZK)
The VAT 21% has already been included in the prices.

Cancellation:

Paid registrants who cannot attend, and do not send a substitute, will be refunded 50% of the workshop fee, if a written request is received by April 30, 2023. Registrants are liable for their full fees after that date (i.e., NO Refund will be made).
